What is an IP Address?
An Internet Protocol address (IP number) is a numerical label assigned to each device participating in aN IP-based computer network.
An IP address serves two principal functions: host or network interface identification and location addressing.
IP addresses are binary numbers, but they are usually stored in text files and displayed in human-readable notations, such as "172.16.254.1".
Your IP address may be statically or dynamically allocated, depending on your ISP connection and source of IP. In other words, don't be surprised if your number changes.
